Drowning

Dream category: Nightmare
Emotion triggered: Fear
Lucid: No
Hours of sleep: 7

Last night I dreamt that my dad had bought a cabin by the ocean.

I swam out there to take a look at it, and when I got there I noticed that he had built a pool under the water. (Yes, it was weird.)

When I got done looking I wanted to swim back, but all of the sudden something was keeping me in place in the water and it started to pull me down and up in the water. I was starting to choke real bad, when I finally managed to pull myself out of the water, and lay down flat on the cabin's deck. My dad came with a boat and we went back home, and I woke up.

Sleeps.com says: "To dream that you drown or in the midst of drowning is a bad omen as it pertains to the health of your business and partnership activities.

If you dream you are swimming in the ocean coming toward shore you will have good fortune in business and financial affairs through your hard work.

A dream of suffocation should first of all be taken as a warning and go to see the doctor for a thorough checkup, second of all the dream could indicate that you are a victim of a particular kind of love that is so protective of you that you feel suffocated. Either way the dream warns you to check your health or get out of a bad relationship."

Flying through a mall and crashing through the ceiling

Dream category: Flying
Emotion triggered: Adrenaline Rush
Lucid: Yes
Hours of sleep: 8

Forgot to blog yesterday, so I'm gonna tell you short about my dream the night before that.

I was screwing around in a mall until I realized that I was dreaming. Now that I was lucid in the dream I decided to see if I could force myself to fly and crash through the ceiling of the mall. And indeed I did. I took off, and flew straight towards the ceiling and smashed my way through it until I got to the other side. There was a bowling alley there... and then I woke up!

Sleeps.com says:
"Flying dreams are normally a good omen and if the flight is pleasant, with no worries and anxieties, you can look for happiness and plenty to follow."

Starring in Grey's Anatomy while competing in Unreal Tournament with powers from Max Payne

Dream category: Action / Superpowers
Emotion triggered: Adrenaline rush
Lucid: No
Hours of sleep: 8

I'm watching Grey's Anatomy season DVD's these days, and that's probably why I last night was reviving a baby with Dr. Karev at Seattle Grace Hospital.

Later me, McDreamy, McSteamy and Dr. Burke broke into a house so we could get thrown into jail to save Miss Grey herself. We were launched into a round of Unreal Tournament against an unidentified team instead, but instead of weapons lying around there were a bunch of video games. The video game you picked up, would determine your weapon-of-choice in the game. I picked up the videogame Max Payne with the famous Kung Fu modification. In slow-motion I dodged the opposing team's bullets while raining them down with my own bullets, and finishing them off with flying kicks.

Sleeps.com says:
"Crying babies in a dream may foretell of ill health or minor disappointments in your personal life (well, I am recovering from an operation which prevents me from doing the things I love the most) while a bright, clean baby speaks of a wonderful love affair or even the making of many new friends. A nursing baby can mean contentment or even deception when taken in relation to other symbols in your dream. Dreaming of a baby can also denote the state of your soul life, again in relation to the other signs.

A dream of guns of any type is a dream of misfortune as it denotes an injustice will be done to you or a close friend, on which you will have to spend much time, effort, and money to overcome. If you see yourself loading a gun you should be careful to guard your temper well. (I do have a bad temper!) "

The constant return to Never-Never-Land .................(not the naughty one)

Dream category:
Adventure
Emotion triggered: Adreanline rush / peace
Lucid: Sometimes
Hours of sleep: About 7

I keep returning to the same place every night I sleep. I call it Never-Never-Land because weird things happen there, and I always fly all over the place. (Yeah, just like in Peter Pan - not Michael Jackson :P)

And since I've been flying every night for a couple of nights now, my flying is getting pretty amazing. Last night I managed to combine super speed with flying and I took off like a rocket over a huge stadium and dropped down to clear-blue water on the other side where I met my sister. (It's her birthday today)

I even ran a presentation for a bunch of people that came there to visit Never-never-land, so I sort of feel like I'm in charge of that entire place, and it's nice that I keep coming back to it every night.

Sleeps.com says:
"Flying dreams are normally a good omen and if the flight is pleasant, with no worries and anxieties, you can look for happiness and plenty to follow.

The ultimate lucid night - flying, magic, super speed, meetings friends I haven't seen for a while and s-e-x

Dream category: Superpowers
Emotion triggered: Adrenaline rush
Lucid: Yes, yes, yes and yes!
Hours of sleep: Only 3 hours!

Alrighty, so I could barely sleep last night cuz I took a really late nap, so I really got a good chance to do lots of lucid dream preperations like meditating, listening to binaural beats, and planning your action in your next lucid dream.

Flying:

In my first dream I ran into a wall that I couldn't get over. I tried going around and just came to a big fence. I was determined to get to the other side and I knew I was dreaming because my pockets were empty and I didn't have shoes on (yes, checking stuff below your waist is a technique you use when you sleep to see if you are dreaming - if it's out of the ordinary = you are dreaming). I started flapping my arms cuz I didn't really know what else I could do to activate flying. I started to levitate, but then I went back down. Determined, I flapped my arms harder and I took off and soared high above ground and flew over the town that I grew up in and ended up in a house where I found someone to sleep with. (Of course, when ur a guy and you take control of a dream, you have to have sex right? :P)

Sleeps.com says: "Flying dreams are normally a good omen and if the flight is pleasant, with no worries and anxieties, you can look for happiness and plenty to follow."

Superspeed:

At one part of the dream I had to run a really far stretch, and just gave myself superspeed.

Sleeps.com says: A running dream is basically a dream of escaping a certain situation, person, or thing.

Bursting into flames:
Later in the dream someone was trying to rob my mom and our house where I grew up. I walked towards the guy and remembered that time I played D&D with some friends (in real life) and we encountered a guy with the ability to matter fireballs. I decided that I should see if I could spawn this skill. And what do you know, I created a bunch of tiny fireballs and fired it at the guy and he got scorched all over his body, before I finished him off by snapping my fingers and he burst into flames.

Sleeps.com says: "To dream of magic and magicians denotes many pleasant happenings in your life and portends happiness and success. A fire is also a complex omen in a dream and must be interpreted in light of the actions connected with it."

Seeing friends I miss:
I met two of my closest friends that I had when I was a student at South Dakota State University in the U.S. in my dream. I gave them both a hug and said I missed them.

Sleeps.com says: "If you dream of good friends in a congenial and happy setting then you will soon here good new of them or a close relative."

I also had some non-lucid moments during this night, but they were nothing special and this post is already long enough. :)

Animal reincarnation and tennis with shuttlecocks

Dream category: Bizarre
Emotion triggered: Joy
Lucid: No
Hours of sleep: 8

Last night I had a kinda weird dream. I dreamt that my dog had reincarnated, except it wasn't the same race anymore... but then later on in the dream I realized that my dog hadn't reincarnated, but that it was in fact just a new dog.

I woke up and fell asleep again. This time I was doing a tennis match. 4 on 4... but we didn't have real tennis balls, we had shuttlecock (the ones you use in badminton) instead? Weeeird! We won tho!... of course :)

Sleeps.com says:
"A dream of dogs is usually a fairly good omen. A dog barking happily shows that you will have a pleasing social life. A friendly, happy dog shows that you have lots of good friends."

So I don't know about the whole dog part, but I think the tennis part has something to do with the Wimbledon Cup (tennis tournament) that has been on TV alot lately had something to do with it.

Childhood sanctuary invaded by thugs

Dream category: Nostalgic/nightmare
Emotion triggered: Peace and fear
Lucid: Almost
Hours of sleep: 7

Last night I (dreamt ) was back at the old day care center I used to go to when I was a kid, and my deceased grandma was also there and I was sitting on her lap. Suddenly three guys come running in with crowbars and baseball bats in their hands dragging other children into the house and starts beating them up with their weapons. All I could do was walk over to them and just stare at them while they were beating the kids up... then I woke up. Freaky dream!

Sleeps.com says: "As a general rule grandparents are a symbol of, love, security, love, protection, love, home, and love. If you dream of being a grandparent you will have a happy domestic life with minimal problems.

If you dream of others fighting it is telling you to be more careful with your financial dealings, and watch your spending."

Hmm.. I really feel happy now-a-days... and I'm sort of almost "in love" at the moment... and yeah... I've been wasting waaay to much money lately... so even though Sleeps.com usually just bring bullshit interpretations to the table, today's comments were pretty "right on". Scary, but kinda cool! :)

Dr. LaBerge I.T.H. / Experimenting with binaural beats

Dr. LaBerge's book on Lucid Dreaming just arrived from the U.S. today!
Just gotta finish up another book, and then I'll get started on it!

Meanwhile...

Tonight I'll be experimenting with binaural beats when I go to sleep. One of my friends introduced me to it. I've read it does some funky stuff with your brain waves and stuff, so I'm gonna see if it's going to enhance my dreaming or not. (Cuz they say it can.)

Here's Wiki on "binaural beats": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Binaural_beats

Obstacle courses, aliens and sex

Dream category: Rivalry, action and sex
Emotion triggered: Adrenaline rush and "excitement"
Lucid: Partially
Hours of sleep: 9 hours

Lets see if I can remember this in the right order.

First there was this huge obstacle course that ran through an entire mall and I had to race through it against one of my friends. I won... of course :)

Later I turned into this super soldier with advanced weapons and vehicles at my disposal. I also had the ability to do amazing super jumps, so I ran and jumped from rooftop to rooftop firing off shots at aliens and helping out team mates. We won... of course :)

And the prize for wearing myself off this way? A little lucid sex of course :)

Sleeps.com says: "A dream of guns of any type is a dream of misfortune as it denotes an injustice will be done to you or a close friend, on which you will have to spend much time, effort, and money to overcome.

Running a foot race in your dreams show that you have an enemy who is a threat to your possessions and is envious of your acquisitions or achievements. To win the race means you will quickly overcome your adversary.

To see aliens of any kind is bringing out your fears and must be correlated with the rest of the dream."

Me and Angelina Jolie

Dream category: Action movie
Emotion triggered: Adrenaline rush
Lucid: No
Hours of sleep: 7

Last night me and mrs. Smith (Angelina Jolie) were being chased down by FBI agents on a U.S. airport. Bullets were flying, stairs were escalated, escalators and elevators were used as cover and someone was trying to snipe us down. Mrs. Smith hacked into a train-ticket-system-thingie and got us ticket for a train to Chile (is there even a train that goes all the way from the U.S. to Chile?).

One of my friend's mom came up to me in the dream and said I was reported missing, so I decided to check out my cell phone in the dream to see if anyone had tried to contact me. That's when I woke up.

But hey.. pretty sweet dream... and what a rush! :)

Sleeps.com says:
"
To dream of celebrities shows that you are letting too much pomp and circumstance convince you to act certain ways that are against your better nature, this could be to your downfall in the area of the heart.

A dream of guns of any type is a dream of misfortune as it denotes an injustice will be done to you or a close friend, on which you will have to spend much time, effort, and money to overcome. If you see yourself loading a gun you should be careful to guard your temper well.

A bullet
in a dream is a very bad omen. If you are hit with one this is to warn you to have a medical checkup immediately, and if you see a bullet, or several, do not do or say anything that can be misconstrued as you could lay yourself open to some very bad scandal.

In a dream the sight of a busy airport represents the desire for freedom and/or travel as this is the jumping off point for all those who travel the world and it brings out your hidden desires to do the same.

but if you are walking downstairs (on stairs) expect to meet with bad luck and setbacks.

An elevator dream is a rather complex dream and you should interpret it in light of all the other symbols in your dream, for one thing, if the elevator is going up your fortunes will increase."

Some bad and some good omens in this dream then. Hmm...

Adding new apartment mates

Dream category: Ordinary life situation
Emotion triggered: None in particular
Lucid: No
Hours of sleep: 5

So, a friend spent the night, so I didn't get to do my whole nightly "hypnosis" routine where I tell myself to remember my dream and make my body relax and stuff, and when I woke up we started talking right away so then most of what I dreamt went "bye bye" from my memory...

Here's a smaaall thing I remember: I remember living in this big apartment with several bedrooms with several people. And then someone moved out, so we had to find new ones. And new ones came to see the apartment and new ones moved in. Yup, sorry.. that's all I can remember. :)

So since I didn't have much to share, you can look at this video about lucid dreaming:

The Birthday Party - A lucid, reincarnating and wet nightmare. (4 for 1)

Dream category: Ordinary life / Nightmare / Wet
Emotion triggered: Happiness, fear, powerful and arousement
Lucid: YES! :)
Hours of sleep: 5 plus 3

(This is the first log on this blog on the 4 subjects lucid, nightmare, reincarnation and wet dream)

So this is how it went down; I woke up in my own bed, except it was in a different apartment out in the country of my home town. Two friends of mine from home showed up. Then a couple of more. Then some colleagues from where I live now. Eventually I suddenly had 20 people in my house. I asked what they were doing there.
They said they were there to celebrate my birthday, even though they just remembered it was not until another month. So we sat out in the garden trying to figure out what we were gonna do, maybe hit the beach or something.

*I wake up at this time. Write down what I just dreamt in my orange book, and went back to sleep*

Now I'm at my late grandmother's house, with my step family. My grandmother is sitting there looking healthy as ever (even though she passed away two years ago). So it was nice to see her again. They are still celebrating my birthday even though they mention in the dream that it's not until another month (mark: My real life birthday is July 11, so it's about two weeks away in real life). They give me presents, sing me songs and so forth.

Suddenly we are all hostages in our own house. Some crazy dude comes in and explains that one of us has to die and be turned into a demon. I grab a bat and try to beat him down, but when the bat hits his head it feels like hitting a brick wall... it just bounces off. The guy throws me across the room and I crashland behind a table. Now I'm scared.

(here is where the lucid part kicks in)

I get up on my feet and I get a strange feeling that this is somewhat "out of the ordinary"... deceased grandma and super-strong evil men. Then I remember one of the techniques for verifying if you're dreaming or not; it is to look down at your hands and feet at the same time and see if you see them or if there is something out of the ordinary. On my left foot I have a shoe on, on my right foot I have nothing on. Not even socks. That's when I realize that I'm dreaming and I run into the kitchen where the bad man is now placed (remember, this was the dude I tried to hit in the head with a bat and it just bounced off... but that was when I thought it was reality). I grab a hold of the guy and throw him across the kitchen and into the wall before he falls to the floor. I grab a hold of the back of his head and start beating his forehead on the kitchen counter, before I do a great finalè and send him flying out the kitchen window. (Niiiice huh?)

And now that I realize my mission is complete and I'm still in dreamland, I decide to have a little fun with a house guest that has arrived in the living room... the rest of the story... is for me and my orange book to keep :)

Who the man? I'm the man!

Sleeps.com says: "If you dream of visiting your old family home you will hear some very good news. If the home itself, is in a dilapidated condition and general neglect, this then is an omen that you will soon hear of the death of a close relative or a very dear friend. If you dream of good friends in a congenial and happy setting then you will soon here good new of them or a close relative. If they exhibit staunch friendship for you in your dream then all your current activities will be successes. If you see them as sad or unhappy you will receive news of an illness. Dreaming of a necromancer (the bad man I threw out who wanted to turn us into demons) is a very bad dream and should be meditated on along with the whole dream. Dreaming of this necromancer practicing his black arts denotes there are evil people around you that will try to influence your life and spoil your domestic bliss. To dream of your parents could be quite an involved thing and must be sorted out by consulting the rest of your dream. By and large the dream of a father is a dream symbol of authority which this parent has held over you, it could also represent power, or strength, or discipline. A dream of a mother is usually a dream that foretells a happy conclusion concerning a love interest as a mother represents love, protection, and nourishment of the body or the spirit. To see yourself working on a beach shows that you will soon be involved with a job, or project, that will be demanding of you in both time and effort. (The wet part evolved to occur on a beach)

Lots of comments from Sleeps.com, but it was a hefty dream with lots of things going on.
And the whole birthday theme of this dream/nightmare had a connection with what I dreamt the previous night, when two of my friends in my dream said: "Your birthday is coming up!" And those two were the first ones to appear in this dream telling me it was my birthday. Coool. It's like living two lives. A real one on the outside of my head, and one life on the inside of my head.

Doctor LaBerge en route....

Amazon.com confirmed the shipping of the book and CD I ordered:

Lucid Dreaming by Dr. Stephen LaBerge.

Reading an article about Dr. LaBerge's research on lucid dreaming inspired this little project of mine, so that's why I wanted to order his book, even though there are tons of books out there on lucid dreaming.

Here you can read an article about Dr. Stephen LaBerge and his work.

ETA is 1 month(!). He who waits for something good, does not wait in vain. ;)

Seeing old friends and old places

Dream category: Casual life
Emotion triggered: None in particular
Lucid: No
Hours of sleep: 10

Last night I dreamt I was back in my old hometown in Northern Norway, hanging out with old friends, meeting my family and seeing old familiar places. Me and my friends birthdays were coming up, even tho her birthday is in April and mine is in July. My mom had bought a new huge house... which looked a lot like the same house one of my friends down here in Oslo lives in.

So the only thing that was special about this dream, is that it was all about old friends and old places. I don't feel homesick, so maybe it was just a small part of me that wanted to go home for a bit? :)

Sleeps.com says: "
If you dream of good friends in a congenial and happy setting then you will soon here good news of them or a close relative. If you dream of visiting your old family home you will hear some very good news."

I sure hope so :)

Dead fish

Dream category: Bizarre
Emotion triggered: Nausea
Lucid: No
Hours of sleep: 5

Alrighty, weeeird.

Last night I dreamt I was on an open hilly field, and there were dead fish lying all over. An old colleague of mine was in the dream, and she informed me that the fish had been eaten by other fish, and that was why some of the dead fish didn't have any skin. Their body looked like jellyfish.

Sleeps.com says: "to see a dead fish... is an omen of disappointment."

So I'm gonna be disappointed soon? Hmm... I'll keep you posted on that ;)
